Job Description
Our Clinet a Leanding Shipping Company based in Dublin is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Specialist – Import/Export to join their team. In this role, you will manage day-to-day import/export bookings with a strong emphasis on quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. You will build and maintain strong commercial relationships with both internal and external customers while ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of Customer Service operations. This position balances profitability with outstanding customer service, contributing to our success as Ireland’s leading container shipping company
Responsibilities – Bookings/Agency
- Accurately process bookings, including domestic and feeder shipments, in line with customer requirements.
- Actively pursue opportunities to maximize shipment volumes.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with shipping and transport departments to ensure timely delivery of cargo.
- Collaborate with the Rotterdam office and European agents to guarantee smooth cargo handling and delivery.
- Prepare and send daily or weekly customer reports as required.
Responsibilities – Customer Services
- Provide timely, professional responses to customer inquiries, fostering satisfaction and loyalty.
- Uphold a strong customer service attitude within the team, ensuring client needs are a priority.
- Handle complaints and issues effectively, representing the company with a transparent and customer-focused approach.
- Partner with the Sales team to support sales initiatives and customer-specific requests.
- Manage customer expectations openly and transparently.
Responsibilities – Communication
- Promote value-added services to enhance customer experience.
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with Terminal Operations, Gatehouse, and Sales Departments.
- Proactively inform all stakeholders about delays or issues related to shipments.
- Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving measures to enhance department efficiency.
- Take initiative in driving change and continuous improvement.
- Ensure attention to detail and high-quality standards in all activities.
Skills & Qualifications
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential. Additional EU language skills are an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of hazardous cargo regulations is a plus.
Background
- Logistics education or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in direct customer contact roles.
- A solid background in transport/operational functions.
- Familiarity with liner or intermodal operations is highly desirable.
