Are you looking for a fantastic opportunity to work for an Award-Winning Logistics Company offering genuine opportunities for progression? Due to continuous business expansion our client has a position for a Customs Clerk to join our Customs Solution Team. You will be responsible for handling import and export customs declarations whilst ensuring that goods are imported into and exported out of Ireland in strict compliance with Irish Customs Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and promptly submit accurate export and import customs entries, in line with Irish Customs regulations and company procedures and client SOP.
- Coordinate the process of customs clearance documentation for the customer base.
- Conduct thorough due diligence checks and follow escalation processes where needed.
- Collaborate with the operational team to ensure the availability of accurate information.
- Deal with the customs authority on a daily basis.
- Work on assigned key account customers to ensure their needs are met and deliver best in class customer service.
- Ensure Duty/VAT is processed correctly & collected as required.
- Ensure any queries/refunds are followed up and resolved immediately.
- Effectively resolve any queries, issues and delays and continuously propose solutions to improve clients’ experience.
- Maintain data quality on our Supply Chain Visibility platform to guarantee accurate information is presented to customers.
- Ensure you keep up to date on the latest Customs Regulations updates & changes.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in completing customs entries in a freight forwarding environment is essential
- Experience with Customs software’s such as Thyme IT
- Experience with DAFM requirements is an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of Irish customs procedures & systems
- Quick and accurate data entry skills
- Strong organisational skills with ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Excellent MS Word & Excel skills
